Public transport in Bonn is being provided by the Verkehrsverbung Rhein-Sieg (VRS).
The venue is close to the subway station Juridicum (Subways 16,18,68,63 and 66), if you are staying in the „Altstadt“ and don’t want to walk to the conference, should board the 66 to Bad Honnef at the Station Stadthaus/City Hall and ride until Juridicum. From Juridicum, you walk around (or through, if it is open) the slightly psychidelic looking Juridicum, to arrive at the Lenné Straße.
Tram line 62 stops at Königsstraße, it is the best public transport option if you are home-staying in Beuel, on the other side of the river. You can also choose this option if you stay in the „Altstadt“.
The closest busstop is called Nassestraße/Arithmeum and is served by the lines 610 and 611.
Tickets and prices
A special option for public transport tickets is the „Kurzstrecke (K)“ (Short ride). You can buy it, if you only need to go four or less stops (your starting point plus four stops). Since Bonn is not very large, this ticket applies to most inner city rides. Single tickets (K) cost 1,90€, if you buy four tickets at once, you pay 7,50€. A normal single ticket (1b) costs 2,80€ and is valid for 90 minutes inside Bonn. You don’t have to validate it, and you are allowed to switch vehicle. If you buy the 4-Ticket option, you pay 11€. To check, whether you can buy a „K“-Ticket, you can enter your station here and see if you find your destination.
Arrival by Plane
Close to Bonn lies the Airport Cologne/Bonn (CGN). There is a shuttle bus from the airport to the main station in Bonn (SB60). The airport is conveniently distanced, but rather small, so you might get better airfares, if you book a flight to Düsseldorf airport (DUS) and board a train to come to Bonn. The trainride (with regional a train) takes about an hour, and costs about 18€ with a „NRW-Ticket“.
